With Love Island USA Season 6 officially wrapped, some of us may not be quite ready to leave the villa just yet. Fear not! There’s plenty more chat to be had. Here are my personal favorite three seasons that are just as good as this past season. Grab your water bottles, whip up a toasty, and let’s get streaming.

Maya’s Top Favorite: UK Season 5

This was the first season of Love Island I ever had the pleasure of watching in real time. Maybe it was the anticipation of the new episode drops, the full spectrum of characters from all walks of life, or the whole host of iconic moments and one-liners. Plus, the Casa Amor aftermath and the sweet but honest friendships between the girls will do it for me EVERY TIME! My fiancé and I are doing our second rewatch of this season if anyone wants to join…

Highly Recommend If: You loved Maura Higgins on Aftersun (this is her origin story).

Favorite Moment: TWO DAYS!!!

UK Season 2

Sigh…there’s something very special about the early seasons of Love Island UK. Folks were chain -smoking, getting nasty under (and above!) the covers, and drinking more than I did at my work’s holiday party last year. Season 2 of UK paints this picture beautifully. This season also includes the first time anyone was kicked out of the villa for physical violence and the first time an islander’s ex comes in to stir things up. Plus, two of the couples from this season are married with kids (don’t worry, I won’t say who!).

Highly Recommend If: You want to see the raunchy rawness of the pre-Casa Amor era.

AUS Season 1

Now, this was the first season of Love Island Australia I watched, and I had no idea what to expect. This is one of those seasons where you’re rooting for fewer people than you’re hate-watching. I COULD NOT LOOK AWAY! Especially when they brought the damn Truth Bike out? Forget it. Basically, I came for the OHR NAURs and stayed for both the onscreen and the post-season drama.

Highly Recommend If: You’ve never seen Australia and want to give it a try.

Favorite Moment: This Massive Fight

If it’s early days into your Love Island journey, delving into the other seasons of UK and Australia is very much worth your time. (USA, however, is not. Argue with the wall.) When you hear yourself drop an “innit” into casual conversation, we’ll know you’re fully on the train with us.  Until next summer, islanders!
